sofia wasn't for me. coming right after budapest, the contrast was rough. i went in low season without knowing much about the city, and it felt boring and a bit depressing. ended up leaving three days later on a midnight bus to romania. the people didn't feel very friendly either, which didn't help. still, the soviet-style architecture and gray buildings had their own strange charm. interesting to see, just not somewhere i'd rush back to.
